Dates filled with goat cheese and walnuts is an appetizer I made last weekend when we celebrated some birthdays in the family. Three simple ingredients, in an easy combination, not more, not less. That’s all you need to make everybody happy.

Preparations however were quite chaotic this time. As it was not clear who is responsible for what, we risked ending up with nothing to eat, or double portions. Luckily WhatsApp helped and after some messages back and forth tasks were clearly defined. I had the appetizers and the dessert, which might be one of the next posts.

I like dates, and I used them already in appetizers on several occasions, just like walnuts. They are healthy, easy to use and don’t block the stomach for what is yet to come. Similar appetizers I made are:

The inspiration for this one comes from flavour and savour. They added also some mint for garnishing, but that wasn’t available. And it was also very yummy without the mint 🙂

Dates filled with goat cheese and walnuts is an easy and surprising appetizer with only three ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 16 pieces dates
  • 100 gram goat cheese
  • 8 halves walnuts

Instructions

  1. Slices the dates in the length and remove the pits.

  2. Fill each date with some goat cheese

  3. Cut the halve walnuts in two quarters.

  4. Fix the walnut in the goat cheese
